Interesting Articles on Addressing and IPv6 Transition

I’ve come across two interesting articles published by GEOFF HUSTON. Geoff is the Chief Scientist at APNIC, the Regional Internet Registry serving the Asia Pacific region. His web site is the most refered place to track the IPv4 address exhaustion.

The first article is an overview of the year 2009, and the evolution/growth/demand for Internet addressing. You can find the article here

The second article, the lengthy one, is a study of the market failure of transition to IPv6. Geoff does a detailed analysis of what went wrong with IPv6 transition, how it should have been, and what is the expected outcome and impact caused by government/public negligence . You can agree with it or deny it, still the article makes sense. Read it here
